My Approach

I offer weekly counselling and psychotherapy sessions in Berkhamsted in person, or online. Sessions last for 50 minutes and take place at the same time and place each week, providing a consistent space just for you. Our work can be open-ended or to a more focused timeframe, depending on your needs and goals.

I am trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling. I understand that beginning therapy can stir a range of feelings. I work with each person as an individual, adapting the pace and focus of our sessions to meet you where you are.

My approach puts you at the heart of every session. It’s a weekly space to talk, explore, and reflect, an opportunity to understand the different parts of yourself with curiosity and without judgement. Together, we can notice patterns and behaviours affecting your life, explore how you’ve adapted in the past, and discover new ways forward.

The therapeutic relationship is central to this work. In our sessions, we pay attention to what happens between us in terms of your feelings and responses, in a space held with openness and empathy. This insight can help you better understand yourself and how you relate to others in your daily life.

After your enquiry, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call so we can discuss what brings you to therapy and give you a sense of how I work. If we decide to continue, we’ll arrange a regular weekly time and use our first sessions to explore where you are now and what you hope to gain from therapy.
